This partnership marks a new phase of the successful anti-poaching project which began with the protection of endangered species from poaching in Africa. The 100% solar powered, quiet and fast heavy-duty motorcycles engineered for wildlife conservation now expands to include the protection of trees and nature of the Amazon rainforest. With the solar chargers provided by innovative renewable energy company Goal Zero.
The devastation caused by illegal deforestation in the Amazon rainforest is one of the most pressing environmental issues of our time, and the Electric Bush Bike Anti-Poaching Initiative aims to combat it head-on. By utilizing specially developed electric off-road motorcycles, the initiative will enable quiet patrolling of the vast and remote areas of the Amazon rainforest that were previously inaccessible using traditional monitoring methods.
“The motorbikes are very useful for our surveillance team, which does the territorial monitoring process in defense of the forest. In addition, by using these fuel-efficient motorcycles, we contribute to climate change having less of an impact on the world. The initiative is a significant step forward in the fight against illegal deforestation in the Amazon rainforest and will help protect the rainforest’s trees and nature for future generations. By the end of August 2023, the electric off-road bikes will be fully operational and put to use, marking a new era in the fight to protect the Amazon rainforest.
In collaboration with Brazilian mixologist Márcio Silva, we have created the ‘Pindorama’ cocktail inspired by the Indigenous resistance. The project aims to both raise visibility and funds for front-line forest protectors in the hotel, bar and restaurant industry.
About Márcio – He is the only Brazilian to lead a Brazilian bar in the list of the 50 best bars in the world in 2019 (Guillotina 15th position), also in 2019 Márcio was elected as a “Man of the Year” by GQ Brasil magazine for the work developed in the Brazilian market.
In 2020, he was nominated Top 10 Bartender of the Year” by Tales of the Cocktail – Spirited Awards of New Orleans in the USA. After selling his bar, he hits the big screen as host of ‘Bar Aberto’, a Reality Show now in its third season.
In 2021, Márcio was recognized as a leader in global cocktail culture by the Tales of the Cocktail – Spirited Awards of New Orleans in the USA.
He is 4 years in a row as one of the 100 most influential people in the beverage and bar industry in the world by the renowned magazine “Drinks International” – Top 100.
In cooperation with the IR Global professional services network, we developed a Forest Guardians sponsorship model, which led to IR member firms financing the formation of 6 new Forest Guardian teams, which by the end of 2023 will bring 1500km2 under protection.
