No final de maio de 2024, o chefe do programa de guardi\u00f5es florestais da Treesistance, o cacique Dad\u00e1, da TI Mar\u00f3, foi convidado pela lideran\u00e7a Xavante para discutir a prote\u00e7\u00e3o da floresta e realizar um interc\u00e2mbio sobre lideran\u00e7a, tutela e educa\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dad\u00e1 foi convidado pela lideran\u00e7a Xavante para discutir a prote\u00e7\u00e3o da floresta e fazer um interc\u00e2mbio sobre lideran\u00e7a, tutela e educa\u00e7\u00e3o. A visita foi facilitada por Marco van der Ree, Conselheiro Estrat\u00e9gico da Treesistence, e Frans Leeuwenberg, que \u00e9 um parceiro de confian\u00e7a dos Xavante e trabalha com eles h\u00e1 35 anos no gerenciamento sustent\u00e1vel da vida selvagem, seguran\u00e7a alimentar, educa\u00e7\u00e3o e cultura.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

O trio foi acompanhado por 20 l\u00edderes Xavante de 14 aldeias diferentes. Eles participaram de dois longos dias sob as mangueiras em conversas frut\u00edferas e profundas, falando sobre a import\u00e2ncia de integrar a cultura no sistema de educa\u00e7\u00e3o formal e tradicional e como a cultura se relaciona com o territ\u00f3rio, a terra, os animais e a natureza como um todo. O terceiro dia foi dedicado \u00e0 viagem pela TI para conhecer o terreno e a fronteira leste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Os Xavante expressaram o quanto se sentiram inspirados com a visita de Dad\u00e1, pois nunca haviam recebido um l\u00edder de outro territ\u00f3rio ind\u00edgena para compartilhar experi\u00eancias no trato dessas quest\u00f5es important\u00edssimas de preserva\u00e7\u00e3o cultural e territorial. Foi uma troca profundamente valiosa. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ficou evidente que a amizade constru\u00edda nessa visita \u00e9 o in\u00edcio de uma jornada muito mais longa em que esses dois grupos de povos ind\u00edgenas continuar\u00e3o seu interc\u00e2mbio e aprendizado m\u00fatuo. Estamos ansiosos para apoiar os Xavante na forma\u00e7\u00e3o de seus pr\u00f3prios grupos de guardi\u00f5es da floresta para proteger esse territ\u00f3rio incrivelmente importante e estrategicamente posicionado das ind\u00fastrias extrativas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
