betalingen voor hun land, wat hen belemmerde in hun rechtmatige eigendomsclaims. Ze wilden samen met FUNAI, de federale instantie voor inheemse zaken, het administratieve proces versnellen van het officieel vaststellen en afbakenen van hun grondgebied, zodat illegale landconcessies en invallen konden worden tegengegaan. Illegale landconcessies, zoals onterecht toegewezen land voor commerci\u00eble doeleinden zoals houtkap en sojaplantages, vormen een ernstige bedreiging voor het grondgebied van inheemse gemeenschappen. Deze illegale bezettingen worden vaak mogelijk gemaakt door gebrekkige administratieve processen, waarin vertragingen en ineffici\u00ebntie de afbakening van inheems grondgebied bemoeilijken.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-75f6019\" data-id=\"75f6019\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-47403df elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"47403df\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Het dorp Terra Ind\u00edgena Munduruku-Takuara ligt aan de rivier de Tapaj\u00f3s, in de gemeente Belterra Par\u00e1. Er is toegang tot de hoofdweg BR-163.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Met een totale afstand van maximaal 130 km vanaf de stad Santar\u00e9m, via Belterra, bereikt u het ongerepte gebied. Het oppervlak van het Munduruku Takuara-gebied is ruim 25.000 hectare. De inheemse gemeenschap leeft in het Tapaj\u00f3s National Forest.<\/span><\/p><p>Binnen het gebied wonen meer dan 62 inheemse families direct in het dorp en meer dan 20 families daarbuiten. Ongeveer 250 mensen zetten zich in om het bos te beschermen.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d6cad1b elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d6cad1b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">De bewakers bestaan \u200b\u200buit 40 vrouwen en mannen, jong en oud. Maar er is een fundamenteel verschil tussen een oerbos en een bos dat is ge\u00ebxploiteerd. In de eerste fase van de houtkap worden de bomen met het meest waardevolle tropische hout gekapt, dit hout staat genoteerd op internationale markten.<\/p><p>De tweede fase bestaat uit het exploiteren van het resterende hout. En de derde en laatste fase is de volledige verwoesting van de vegetatie, meestal voor de industri\u00eble landbouw of extensieve veeteelt. Vanaf dat moment heeft een groep mannen en vrouwen die door de dorpen zijn gekozen zich georganiseerd. In samenwerking met Treesistance bewaakt deze groep boswachters hun territorium.
