Formaci\u00f3n \u00e9xitosa de un nuevo grupo de guardas forestales<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Este mes de julio hemos apoyado la formaci\u00f3n con \u00e9xito de otro grupo de guardas forestales<\/a>. En la formaci\u00f3n participaron 3 grupos ind\u00edgenas: Arapiun, Jaraqui y Tapajo y se llev\u00f3 a cabo en el territorio ind\u00edgena de Cobra Grande. Los habitantes de esta zona se enfrentan a invasores interesados en plantar soja, criar ganado, extraer madera ilegalmente y dedicarse a la caza y la pesca depredadoras. Ahora que se ha completado la formaci\u00f3n de un grupo local de guardas forestales, los ind\u00edgenas de la zona disponen de m\u00e1s herramientas y conocimientos para proteger sus tierras de los invasores ilegales.

La formaci\u00f3n corri\u00f3 a cargo del jefe del programa Treesistance de guardas forestales, el jefe Dad\u00e1 Borari, y de miembros seleccionados Territorio Ind\u00edgena de Mar\u00f3<\/a> , y fue posible gracias al bufete de abogados holand\u00e9s Synergy Business Lawyers<\/a>, que patrocin\u00f3 la formaci\u00f3n. M\u00e1s de 50 personas recibieron formaci\u00f3n con \u00e9xito y ya est\u00e1n trabajando sobre el terreno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La formaci\u00f3n incluy\u00f3 debates sobre t\u00e9cnicas de enfrentamiento seguro, presentaciones sobre defensa del territorio y uso de la tecnolog\u00eda sobre el terreno. Habilidades que, por desgracia, son una necesidad en una zona que ha tenido una historia turbulenta con no ind\u00edgenas que intentan explotar sus tierras a costa del medio ambiente y de los ind\u00edgenas que intentan defenderlo.

Amenazas para el territorio y el pueblo ind\u00edgena de Cobra Grande<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

El Territorio Ind\u00edgena de Cobra Grande est\u00e1 situado en el municipio de Santarem, a orillas del r\u00edo Arapi\u00fan. Este r\u00edo nace de los r\u00edos Tapajos<\/a> y Amazonas. Hace m\u00e1s de 20 a\u00f1os que la FUNAI (Fundaci\u00f3n Nacional del Indio de Brasil) trabaja para demarcar el territorio. Desgraciadamente, debido a circunstancias como la falta de estudios cartogr\u00e1ficos y territoriales, el proceso ha tardado m\u00e1s de lo esperado. Debido a este retraso en la demarcaci\u00f3n de sus tierras, los habitantes del Territorio Ind\u00edgena de Cobra Grande se enfrentan a numerosos invasores. Esto ha provocado numerosos conflictos entre ind\u00edgenas y no ind\u00edgenas. Tanto es as\u00ed que los casos de violencia y discriminaci\u00f3n contra los ind\u00edgenas llevaron al Ministerio P\u00fablico Federal a solicitar la apertura de una investigaci\u00f3n por parte de la Polic\u00eda Federal.*<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Otro problema enfrentado por los ind\u00edgenas, con el atraso en la demarcaci\u00f3n, fue la creaci\u00f3n de un asentamiento agroextractivista por el INCRA - Instituto Nacional de Colonizaci\u00f3n y Reforma Agraria, que se superpone a sus tierras. Pero, afortunadamente, esa cuesti\u00f3n est\u00e1 resuelta con la delimitaci\u00f3n de la TI Cobra Grande, que tiene 8.906 hect\u00e1reas en la margen izquierda del curso inferior del r\u00edo Arapiuns.
