Situada a orillas del r\u00edo Tapaj\u00f3s, en el municipio de Santar\u00e9m. Los Tupinamb\u00e1 son conocidos por su fuerte resistencia y liderazgo en la protecci\u00f3n de sus tierras y su cultura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La formaci\u00f3n reuni\u00f3 a m\u00e1s de 20 participantes, entre hombres y mujeres de todas las edades. Aprendieron t\u00e9cnicas esenciales de defensa territorial, creaci\u00f3n de mapas y trabajo de campo con tel\u00e9fonos m\u00f3viles y c\u00e1maras GPS. Esta iniciativa, apoyada por miembros del <a href=\"https:\/\/treesistance.com\/es\/maro-ti\/\">Territorio Ind\u00edgena de Mar\u00f3<\/a>, ten\u00eda por objeto dotar a la comunidad de herramientas para salvaguardar su territorio de las crecientes amenazas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" src=\"https:\/\/treesistance.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/IMG_6180-1-scaled.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6279\" srcset=\"https:\/\/treesistance.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/IMG_6180-1-scaled.jpeg 2560w, https:\/\/treesistance.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/IMG_6180-1-300x200.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Una Historia de Lucha y Resistencia<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los Tupinamb\u00e1 del Bajo Tapaj\u00f3s habitan la Reserva Extractiva Tapaj\u00f3s-Arapiuns (Resex), creada en 1998 para contrarrestar las amenazas de las empresas madereras. Aproximadamente 20 de las 70 aldeas ind\u00edgenas de la zona pertenecen a los Tupinamb\u00e1. A pesar de su resistencia, se han enfrentado a retos hist\u00f3ricos a la hora de afirmar su identidad y sus derechos territoriales. Las actividades misioneras y el devastador conflicto de Cabanagem, que acab\u00f3 con hasta el 40% de la poblaci\u00f3n de Gr\u00e3o Par\u00e1, casi borraron su presencia. Esto llev\u00f3 a muchos a creer que los grupos ind\u00edgenas de la regi\u00f3n hab\u00edan desaparecido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La creaci\u00f3n de la Resex permiti\u00f3 a los Tupinamb\u00e1 reivindicar su identidad y exigir la demarcaci\u00f3n de sus tierras ancestrales como territorio ind\u00edgena. Este reconocimiento transformar\u00eda la clasificaci\u00f3n actual de la zona y les otorgar\u00eda un mayor control sobre sus tierras.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Amenazas actuales y la Lucha por el Reconocimiento<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sin embargo, los avances en el reconocimiento oficial de los territorios ind\u00edgenas dentro de la Resex han sido lentos. Frustrados por los retrasos, los tupinamb\u00e1 comenzaron a autodemarcar sus tierras en 2017. Su objetivo es proteger 350.000 hect\u00e1reas de territorio tradicional. Se enfrentan a numerosos retos, entre ellos grandes proyectos de infraestructuras como la pavimentaci\u00f3n de la carretera BR-163, la hidrov\u00eda Teles Pires-Tapaj\u00f3s y el ferrocarril Ferrogr\u00e3o. Estos proyectos, concebidos para transportar mercanc\u00edas, amenazan con perturbar sus tierras y su modo de vida.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La miner\u00eda ilegal supone otro grave riesgo. En 2019, la deforestaci\u00f3n ilegal en la regi\u00f3n de Tapaj\u00f3s alcanz\u00f3 niveles r\u00e9cord, con 10.500 hect\u00e1reas de bosque destruidas. La pandemia de Covid-19 empeor\u00f3 la situaci\u00f3n, dejando a las comunidades ind\u00edgenas m\u00e1s vulnerables y reduciendo la supervisi\u00f3n estatal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Construir un Futuro m\u00e1s Fuerte<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Esta formaci\u00f3n supone un importante paso adelante en el fortalecimiento de la capacidad de los Tupinamb\u00e1 para defender sus tierras. Con el apoyo de Treesistance y un agradecimiento especial a Nordeq Management, una empresa asesora danesa (que patrocin\u00f3 la formaci\u00f3n), la comunidad est\u00e1 construyendo una red de guardas forestales ind\u00edgenas dedicados a proteger los bosques antiguos de esta regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La determinaci\u00f3n y el coraje de los Tupinamb\u00e1 son inspiradores.
