class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Het concept van Curupira kan worden vertaald als \"de beschermende geest van de jungle\" - hoewel de betekenis voor de inheemse bevolking veel dieper en raadselachtiger is. Curupira is als een heilige geest. Zijn magische krachten bepalen wat er gebeurt met degenen die de jungle ingaan. De missie van de inheemse bevolking is om de jungle te respecteren en te beschermen. Door dit te doen respecteren en beschermen ze zichzelf.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-75f6019\" data-id=\"75f6019\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-47403df elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"47403df\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>De inheemse Borar\u00ed-groep kwam naar dit afgelegen gebied. De Arapiun woonden hier al eeuwenlang, nadat ze de armoede uit Alter do Chao waren ontvlucht (een overwegend Borar\u00ed-gebied, ongeveer 30 kilometer ten westen van Santar\u00e9m, de hoofdstad van de Beneden-Tapaj\u00f3s, in het Braziliaanse Par\u00e1).<\/p><p>Ze gingen langs de Arapiuns-rivier tot aan de bron en volgden vanaf daar de loop van de kleine Mar\u00f3-rivier, waar het gebied zijn naam aan ontleent. De groep bestaat uit ongeveer 300 mensen, verdeeld over 3 dorpen: Novo Lugar, Cachoeira do Mar\u00f3 en Sao Jos\u00e9. Maar het gebied is groot: ongeveer 42.000 hectare oerbos - ongerept, nooit gekapt Amazonewoud.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d6cad1b elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"d6cad1b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Het inheemse land Mar\u00f3 herbergt heilige plaatsen en igarap\u00e9s \u2014 zoetwaterbronnen en ceremoni\u00eble locaties die van groot spiritueel en cultureel belang zijn voor de gemeenschap. Maar er is een fundamenteel verschil tussen een oerbos en een bos dat is ge\u00ebxploiteerd. In de eerste fase van de houtkap worden de bomen met het meest waardevolle tropische hout gekapt, dit hout staat genoteerd op internationale markten.<\/p><p>De tweede fase bestaat uit het exploiteren van het resterende hout. En de derde en laatste fase is de volledige verwoesting van de vegetatie, meestal voor de industri\u00eble landbouw of extensieve veeteelt.
