A finales de mayo de 2024, el jefe del programa de guardianes forestales de Treesistance, el jefe Dad\u00e1 de TI Maro, fue invitado por los l\u00edderes Xavante para discutir la protecci\u00f3n de los bosques y tener un intercambio sobre liderazgo, tutela y educaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dad\u00e1 fue invitado por la direcci\u00f3n de Xavante para hablar de la protecci\u00f3n de los bosques y mantener un intercambio sobre liderazgo, tutela y educaci\u00f3n. La visita fue facilitada por Marco van der Ree, Asesor Estrat\u00e9gico de Treesistence, y Frans Leeuwenberg, socio de confianza de los Xavante, con quienes lleva 35 a\u00f1os trabajando en la gesti\u00f3n sostenible de la fauna, la seguridad alimentaria, la educaci\u00f3n y la cultura.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Al tr\u00edo se unieron 20 l\u00edderes Xavante de 14 aldeas diferentes que participaron en dos largos d\u00edas bajo los \u00e1rboles de mango en conversaciones fruct\u00edferas y profundas sobre la importancia de integrar la cultura en el sistema educativo formal y tradicional y c\u00f3mo la cultura se relaciona con el territorio, la tierra, los animales y la naturaleza en su conjunto. El tercer d\u00eda lo dedicamos a recorrer el TI para conocer el terreno y la frontera oriental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los Xavante expresaron lo inspirados que estaban por la visita de Dad\u00e1, ya que nunca hab\u00edan recibido a un l\u00edder de otro territorio ind\u00edgena para compartir experiencias en el tratamiento de estos temas tan importantes de la preservaci\u00f3n cultural y territorial. Fue un intercambio profundamente valioso. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fue obvio que la amistad construida en esta visita, es el comienzo de un viaje mucho m\u00e1s largo donde estos dos grupos de pueblos ind\u00edgenas continuar\u00e1n su intercambio y aprendizaje mutuo. Esperamos poder ayudar a los Xavante a formar sus propios grupos de guardas forestales para proteger de las industrias extractivas este territorio incre\u00edblemente importante y estrat\u00e9gicamente situado.
